If the habit research is correct, it takes 21 days to rebuild neural connections and pathways which effectively establish new habits of thought and action. So, rather than continuing in our normal thought patterns of despair or fear, we can create a flood of positive emotions through the practice of thankfulness.

I started being intentional about my own gratitude practice once I saw the research results of a few different studies, which all reported statistically significant outcomes from gratitude practices.
I guess I shouldn't have been so surprised.
The Bible has instructed us to be thankful for thousands of years, despite the fact that this world is fallen and broken. Does God not know? Is He unaware? Do you think He's totally oblivious to the adversities and challenges of life?
Of course not!
So why has He always called us to be thankful?
Probably because He made us. We did not make ourselves. And so, He is aware that being grateful unleashes positive emotions and crafts a more contented outlook on life.
In order to help you get started, I created this 21-Day Gratitude Journal which includes:
Daily sections for recording moments or events for which to be thankful.
One memory verse for you to memorize each week for three weeks.
Daily Memory Verse Practice Sections
A section for recording your reflections each day about how God is working in your life through this journal
And a section to set intentions for the next day.
Sweet sister, so much of the spiritual battle takes place in your mind. Without realizing it, you can dwell on negative, self-defeating, sinful and hopeless thoughts until your entire world is colored by negativity.
But as Christians, you and I are charged with renewing our minds, rather than letting them fester. We are also told that we must take our thoughts captive and make them obey Christ, who is our life.
Give thanks to the Lord for He is good, His love endures forever. - Ps. 118:29
